The building’s iconic geometric, full-height glazed façade has become a prominent landmark for Tottenham Court Road. Designed with WELL principles at its core, the interiors prioritise natural daylight, clean air, and acoustic comfort. The development integrates green spaces with stepped terraces, pocket gardens, and ‘forest floor’ planting to create a harmonious connection to nature.

Sustainability was integral to the redevelopment, with 30% of the original structure and basement retained, 98% of waste diverted from landfill, and an impressive embodied carbon rating of 512 kg/m² GIA. Launched to the market in February 2023, the development is already 95.57% let by rental value. Global tenants include Fujitsu, Siemens, Microsoft (Zenimax), Tripledot Studios, Bauer Media, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust, and Bupa.

The Lantern has been recognised for its innovative design and sustainability credentials, winning the BCO Regional Award 2023 for Best Commercial Workplace.

We tried to keep whole-life carbon to a minimum... So, we kept as much of the existing building as possible and minimised the amount of waste going to landfill. We have a myriad of features to ensure the building uses very little energy, which means it has very low running costs as well.”
